The Old York Road Genealogical Society (OYRGS) meets at 7 p.m. on the
second Tuesday of the month, year-round, in the Shorday Room at the Abington Township Public Library, 1030 Old York Rd., Abington, PA (map to the library). Our meetings are free and open to the public. The programs include notable speakers on genealogical topics as well as discussions centered on a genealogical theme. When attending discussion meetings, everyone is invited and encouraged to bring illustrations or examples of their experiences related to the meeting's theme.

"Dora Lewis - Philadelphia Suffragist" First-person interpreter, Carol Spacht, will introduce us to Dora Lewis, reformer and suffragist from Philadelphia, who dedicated her efforts to pressuring the government to pass the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution recognizing the right of women to vote. Presenter: Carol Spacht.||

"What Did you Do in the War Granny? Women in the Army in WWII." Over 150,000 women served in the Army in World War II. Learn about their pioneering wartitme service and how to find records for the women who served. Presenter Anette Burke Lyttle. Also, Kathleen Rice will tell us about the little-known Military Women's Memorial in Arlington VA.||
